Charlene Morris has over 35 years of experience in primary care. She currently practices at the Pamlico Medical Center in Bayboro, NC, before which she was with the U.S. Coast Guard and practiced as a civilian with the U.S. Navy for 8 years. Ms. Morris completed her Physician Assistant training at George Washington University in Washington, DC in 1980 and earned a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska in 2002. She has authored and edited numerous articles and book chapters, and has developed and presented CME programs.

Ms. Morris earned the Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in 2008 for her outstanding contributions to patient care and to the Physician Assistant profession throughout her career. She is active in the Physician Assistant and medical community as a mentor, life-long learner, and patient advocate. She is also past president of both the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants (2003-2005) and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (2014).

Ms. Morris is a paid consultant of Allergan and is being provided funding from Allergan in exchange for her participation as a member on the IBS CounSEL.
