Dr. Elayne DeSimone is Clinical Professor of Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nurse Practitioner programs at Widener University in Chester, PA. In addition, she practices at Community Volunteers in Medicine, a free primary care clinic for the uninsured in West Chester, PA. Dr. DeSimone is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, with clinical training at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park, NY and at the University Medical Center at Stony Brook. She completed doctoral studies in Nursing Research and Theory Development at Adelphi University.
Dr. DeSimone co-founded the Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island and is a past president of the New York State Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Board certified in Adult Health and Family Health, she is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, as well as being a member of other interest groups.
Dr. DeSimone is a paid consultant of Allergan and is being provided funding from Allergan in exchange for her participation as a member on the IBS CounSEL.
