Dr. Kenneth Palestrant serves as Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Physicians Immediate Care urgent care centers in St. Lucie and Martin counties, FL. He began his medical career in 1976 as an Emergency Department Technician at Hialeah Hospital in Hialeah, FL. From 1978-1982 he worked as a paramedic for Broward County emergency medical services then as a Registered Nurse part-time at Miami General Hospital. After graduating from the University of Santiago School of Medicine, Dominican Republic, in 1986, Dr. Palestrant received his post-graduate training at Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis, MO and Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, FL.
While Director of Emergency Services at St. Lucie Medical Center Emergency Department in 2003, Dr. Palestrant opened Physicians Immediate Care urgent care center with one location and only five employees. Today, in its 12th year of business, his practice has grown to five locations and 85 employees. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and serves on several committees and boards in St. Lucie County.
Dr. Palestrant is a paid consultant of Allergan and is being provided funding from Allergan in exchange for his participation as a member on the IBS CounSEL.
